What does it mean to be recognized in the industry as an excellent trial lawyer? David Christensen was recently inducted into the American Board of Trial Advocates – a prestigious organization committed to preserving citizens’ right to a jury trial.
Christensen Law founder, David Christensen, is first and foremost a litigator. With over 25 years of courtroom experience, he has shown a commitment to the preservation of this important constitutional process – trial by jury.
David Christensen Inducted Into Abota
Now his hard work has been recognized by the American Board of Trial Advocates. This organization, founded in 1957, is an elite collection of trial attorneys dedicated to improving the industry and their craft. ABOTA describes itself saying:
“The preservation of the civil jury trial, ‘Justice by the People,’ is the primary purpose of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). We seek attorneys who display skill, civility and integrity, to help younger attorneys achieve a higher level of trial advocacy and to educate the public about the vital importance of the Seventh Amendment.”
But ABOTA doesn’t take just anyone. There are only 112 members of the Michigan Chapter of ABOTA out of more than 40,000 practicing attorneys in the state. Membership is by invitation only and is only granted to attorneys of “high personal character and honorable reputation” that meet certain requirements for years practicing and jury trials completed.
On December 2, 2016, David Christensen joined these honored ranks. Christensen Law Attorney Dustin Hoff says:
We all know how great of a person and trial attorney Dave is. His legal skills, integrity, and commitment to the community encompass the Christensen Law motto: Listening, Winning, Protecting. . . .
This is a great honor for Dave and the Christensen Law family.
Christensen Law Named Community Leaders
And that wasn’t the only significant honor bestowed on Christensen Law that week. On December 1, 2016, David Christensen was awarded the 2016 Best of MichBusiness Award in the Community Leaders category. According to the organization:
“The BEST of michbusiness Awards Program is dedicated to one thing – recognizing those companies and individuals that make Michigan a topnotch place to do business.”
The organization hosts educational and networking events throughout the year to benefit its members and their communities. This year it honored over 100 honorees from all kinds of businesses across Michigan.
Christensen Law was named a Community Leader because of its commitment to ongoing community service. MichBusiness recognized Christensen’s Safe Ride Home program and Distracted Driving Awareness Scholarship. Through these programs, Christensen Law seeks to raise awareness of the consequences of drunk driving and distracted driving.
David Christensen has also served as chairman of the board for Help Source Agency, in Ann Arbor, and on the Washtenaw Council on Alcoholism and Spectrum Treatment and Prevention Services.
Christensen Law and its founder, David Christensen, are dedicated to giving their best to the community – inside the courtroom and out. Receiving two honors in as many days is gratifying and encourages the team to continue to do good work for our clients and our community.
