Get a Safe Ride Home on July 4

Independence Day is right around the corner. Preparing for Michigan’s most patriotic holiday may include stocking up on burgers, munchies, and alcohol. But when the fireworks are finished and the bon-fires fade, don’t take the risk of a drunk driving accident. Make sure you get a Safe Ride Home from Christensen Law.

The auto accident attorneys at Christensen Law see far too many drunk driving accidents. We represent the ones who pay for the drivers’ choice to operate while intoxicated. So we’ve decided to do something about it. We are offering a Safe Ride Home to anyone in Metro Detroit who chooses not to take the risk this Independence Day. Our hope is to save a life by encouraging Michigan residents to take a taxi or an Uber ride rather than drive drunk.

Drunk Driving puts you, your passengers, and everyone around you on the road at risk of a serious or even fatal accident. Last year, the National Safety Council estimated over 400 Americans would die in alcohol-related accidents over the 4th of July weekend. Another 49,500 would be injured.

With so many Michigan residents hitting the roads to go up north, out west, or just to their local fireworks, the risk is high that any drunk driver could cause a fatal accident. Don’t take the chance. Commit to a designated driver or make a plan to call a ride. Know how you are going to get home before you take your first drink.

Christensen Law is dedicated to fighting back against drunk driving fatalities. We have been offering its Safe Ride Home program for the last several holidays. We had campaigns for Thanksgiving Eve, New Year’s Eve, and St. Patrick’s Day. Now we’re adding Independence Day to the list.

“We’ve helped more than 300 people return home safely, and we want to continue offering that service to the community,” says David Christensen, founder of Christensen Law.

For Independence Day, the program will operate similarly to past holidays. Metro Detroit residents can take a taxi or Uber ride within Macomb, Wayne, Oakland, or Washtenaw Counties on July 4. If you send the receipt and a copy of your ID to, the law firm will reimburse you up to $35 for a one way trip. Get all the details here.

Don’t let your Independence Day celebration end in tragedy. Make plans now to drink responsibly by getting a Safe Ride Home from Christensen Law. It could save a life.
